Domenico Beneventano is a professor at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Modena e Reggio Emilia (Italy), teaching courses on Database Management Systems and Information System. He received the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering in 1990 and the Ph.D. in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering in 1994, both from the University of Bologna (Italy). His research activity has been mainly devoted to knowledge representation and management in the context of very large databases facing both theoretical and implementation aspects, with particular reference to reasoning techniques applied to databases for knowledge representation and query optimization. His research interests include intelligent information integration. He has published international journal and conference papers and his researches have been founded by the Italian MURST, CNR, ASI institutions and by the EU Community (ESPRIT and IST projects).
